About The PDX Guy

pdx-guyMy name is Tony Thomas and I love my life!  I work as an Internet Marketer, social media marketer, and video producer. My company is called PDX Guy, Inc.

I’ve been into computers since the mid-80s, starting out building them, did tech support for Microsoft for a while and then got into web design.

In early 2006, I discovered affiliate marketing and the thrill of working online. Anything that gives me an adrenaline rush the way Internet marketing has, I throw myself into. I’ve gotten deep into SEO, PPC, network and social marketing (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc), landing page design, have multiple Squidoos, video blogging on YouTube (known as Vlogging), blogging using WordPress, plus other avenues of Internet marketing, promotion and making money online.

I have a large web site that I created in 2006 called Romantic Oregon Coast Vacations. I love the beaches of Oregon (where I’ve lived most of my life (Oregon, that is!)) and thought it would be a very cool niche to get into.

Although, I had designed most of my sites by hand, I decided to use Site Build It for both my Oregon coast site and my Portland site, Uniquely Portland Oregon. I really love the service and it’s helped propel my site to the top of the search engines for many of the most popular Oregon vacation-related keywords. At the time of this writing, my site is enjoying 900-1000 visitors per day.

I started working from home, full-time, in mid-2008 and, even though there is still some rough spots with the economy the way it is, I continue to forge ahead to retain my lifestyle of calling my own shots.

I love online gaming (World of Warcraft used to be something I played religiously, but I’m really into Team Fortress 2 now)), early arcade games (Dig Dug! WOOT!), music of the 70s and 80s, movies, and watching other people run off to work. hehe! ;) As I said, I am someone who loves networking, so here are a few places to catch me:

Hey Portland guy… I simply love you site.
I’ve been working a tad with WP lately and was thinking of creating something similar.
But why over write a good thing.
A big “BIG” part of Portland of course is the art and design scene.Even though it is a little bit… ( hmmm )… competitive.Every aspect of Portland’s art arena is well worth
a persons time and or investments. Personally I’d rather read about a comment focused around Portland’s artists and designers over the local yest, hops and mash. Art is much more lively and colorful….plus in most cases won’t turn into vinaigrette when hit by open air.

    Hi, Rex!

Portland is indeed home to some of the most creative people on earth. We tend to gravitate to the city.
